What is being bought

Microsoft Licence and Support Contract: The Council currently has approximately 7300 staff located over 250 locations, with a mixed estate of approximately 10,000 hardware devices split between laptops, desktops, tablets and mobile phones. In addition, there are approximately 300 users (and an associated quantity of endpoints) who qualify for Academic pricing. There are around 300 applications in use, a large proportion of which can be accessed through a Citrix Virtual Desktop Infrastructure. Much of the Council’s IT estate is underpinned by Microsoft technology. As examples: use of Microsoft Office is still prevalent to support a number of dependent applications and processes (including Microsoft Access). Windows Server, SQL, Windows client OS, Active Directory and Remote Desktop Services continue to play a critical role in the delivery of services.

Comparable-procurement analytics

Benchmarked against retained Find a Tender procedures with CPV division 72. The category anchor is IT services: consulting, software development, Internet and support (72000000); this is a deliberately broad market comparator. The comparison is shown at several levels rather than pretending one company or region is always the best benchmark.

“Reported bids” is an official aggregate, sometimes reported per lot; it is the closest available competition measure. “Named award suppliers” are winners, not all applicants.

Price-outcome signal

Not enough comparable procedures currently publish both a GBP tender value and a usable lowest-valid-bid value to calculate a responsible price-reduction benchmark. Tenderline deliberately does not infer a saving from named award suppliers or from missing award values.

"description": "Microsoft Licence and Support Contract:\nThe Council currently has approximately 7300 staff located over 250 locations, with a mixed estate of approximately 10,000 hardware devices split between laptops, desktops, tablets and mobile phones. Windows Server, SQL, Windows client OS, Active Directory and Remote Desktop Services continue to play a critical role in the delivery of services.",
