The service will triage all referrals from primary care ensuring the appropriate pre referral tests have been undertaken. The service will offer the provision of a timely diagnostic quality assured spirometric assessment of patients with respiratory symptoms in line with current national recommendations. Once the spirometry test is completed the service will interpret the findings from the test and share a report back to the referring clinician to enable future management of the condition. The contract is awarded from 24th June 2024 through to 31st March 2025, with a total contract value of £75,417, due to the withdrawal of another provider. This will allow the necessary time to mobilise the new arrangements. This also ensures stability of provision and access to this service within the stated locality. Procedure rationaleThis contract has been awarded under the urgent circumstances provision of the Provider Selection Regime (PSR). This contract has been awarded under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. For the avoidance of doubt, the provisions of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 do not apply to this award.'
