Coverage: 1 active published awards; 0 bid reports (which may be per lot). Supplier values exclude multi-supplier awards, frameworks and DPS, and use GBP only. They are published award values, not payments. Published-to-award variance compares single-lot, single-award, single-supplier GBP procedures with explicitly non-framework/non-DPS status; increases remain in the average. Unpublished data stays unknown. Awarded suppliers are winners, not all bidders.

What is being bought
Award of a contract without prior publication of a call for competition in the cases listed below
The procurement falls outside the scope of application of the regulations
Explanation:
Regulation 32 exempt: 32(2)(b)(ii) whereby competition is absent for technical reasons.
HSE's Perkin Elmer gas chromatography, mass spectrometry, thermal desorption, infra-red spectroscopy and inductively coupled plasma equipment is used for analysis relating to statutory workplace regulations and incident investigations, work which may result in legal proceedings. Regular maintenance is required to comply with the legal requirements of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) for safe operation, maintain analytical measurement quality, reduce instrument downtime and maximize the lifespan of expensive scientific equipment. HSE is therefore seeking to purchase a service agreement covering maintenance and repair of sixteen items of equipment for up to 4 years.
