Technology Enabled Care (TEC) is the collective term used to describe technology that can be used to enable people to live longer, healthier and more independent lifestyles. This can be achieved through the provision of convenient, accessible and cost-effective solutions across the health and social care sector.
Technology Enabled Care (TEC) services are innovative technological solutions such as telehealth, telecare, telemedicine, telecoaching and self-care that provide care and support with daily living for people with long term conditions that is convenient, accessible and cost-effective. TEC services can transform the way people engage in and control their own care, empowering them to manage it in a way that is right for them and help them to maintain or increase their independence.
The Sensor Based Monitoring Care Assessment Service will support Social Care Practitioners to complete objective, evidence-based social care assessments of adults, using sensor-based monitoring systems. This will enable the Person to live independently for as long as possible, enabling people to stay well, safe and independent at home for longer and ensuring people have access to the right care, in the right please at the right time.
