The programme objectives are:
- To prevent the onset of mental health difficulties, by taking action to support the wellbeing of school and college leaders in England.
- To support school and college leaders experiencing mental health and wellbeing difficulties who do not have access to independent support by plugging the gap in provision.
- To promote and improve the quality of mental health and wellbeing support for school and college leaders by helping to stimulate the market and support capacity building.

A three-year programme of professional supervision to a minimum of 2,500 school and college leaders in need of wellbeing support who meet the eligibility criteria. The service shall be delivered, as a minimum, through facilitated virtual or telephone-based one-to-one professional supervision, with scope for the provision of group supervision and one-to-one counselling for those identified as needing this.
