Published requirement descriptionCumberland Council have commissioned a provider to provide Residential Short Breaks for Adults with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism.
Residential Short Breaks complement the range of services currently available to adults with a learning disability and / or who are autistic and forms part of the range of options available to meet people's assessed needs.
Short breaks can have a significant positive impact on someone's independence and choice by enabling them to continue living in their own home by providing support they can access when their regular care giver needs to take a break from their caring responsibilities.

- Quality: Please note these are conditions of participation. You must answer the following three questions before completing the rest of the tender: If you cannot answer yes to all three of the questions below, you should not proceed further with this tender as your bid will be excluded. Are you registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to deliver care to people with a learning disability and / or autism and will you have held this registration for at least 12 months prior to the commencement of the contract (1st September 2026)? Do you currently hold a CQC rating of good or above? Do you currently own or rent a building that you are able to use to deliver the service? The building should be fit for the purpose of delivering the service as detailed within the Service Specification and should be located in the Carlisle area..

Cumberland Council is in the process of commissioning a one year contract for a Residential Short Breaks for Adults with a Learning Disability and/or Autism service based in Carlisle. This service will provide an overnight stay, activities and support to individuals with high-level support needs which can include personal care and health needs.
