What is being bought
An extra care scheme encourages independent living through a combination of specially designed housing developed with 24 hour/7 day a week care and support. This gives peace of mind that help is on hand for emergencies at any time and provides a more flexible delivery of service to suit tenant's needs. It can offer over 55's with care and support needs as an alternative to moving into a residential care home. The facility will be open 365 days per year. There are two sites, Peachment Place which is located on Howarth Close which is off St Peter's Road in Bury and Redbank which is located on Lowe Street in Radcliffe. The Council is seeking to award concessions to one or more suitably qualified professional organisations for the provision of a bistro service at these extra care schemes. The concession for these services will be for a 5-year period with the actual start date will be agreed with the successful bidder) with a 5-year extension concession. There will be a break-clause after the second year of the original period which gives either party the ability to break the relationship if required The contract is split into two lots: Lot 1 - Peachment Place Lot 2 - Redbank Bidders may apply for either one or both of the lots
