- Extensions
- The contracts include an option to extend for two years to provide continuity and stability of essential public health services delivered through community pharmacies. The extension may be exercised where providers continue to meet the contract requirements, deliver satisfactory performance, maintain the required standards of clinical governance and service quality, and where the services remain aligned with the Council's strategic objectives and local population needs. Exercising the extension would enable the Council to maintain established service provision, preserve patient choice and accessibility, avoid disruption to service users, and make efficient use of existing provider networks and infrastructure. Any decision to extend will be subject to a review of provider performance, available funding, continued value for money, and compliance with the applicable legislative and governance requirements
