Coverage: 515 active published awards; 512 bid reports (which may be per lot). Supplier values exclude multi-supplier awards, frameworks and DPS, and use GBP only. They are published award values, not payments. Published-to-award variance compares single-lot, single-award, single-supplier GBP procedures with explicitly non-framework/non-DPS status; increases remain in the average. Unpublished data stays unknown. Awarded suppliers are winners, not all bidders.

The commissioners have procured a second centre to treat patients, 16yrs and under with contact high consequence infectious diseases alongside the established one in the North (located in Newcastle). The the procurement is to improve the geographical access to the service and increase the national resilience by having two units that can admit and treat patients with viral haemorrhagic fevers. These infections are of particular public health importance because they can spread within a hospital setting, are difficult to recognise and detect rapidly, and have a high case-fatality rate. Most of these diseases are imported into the UK.

The duration of this contract will be for a period of 8 years with the Commissioner having the option to extend the Contract for up to a further year.
