Official UK procurement notice
Provision of Short Term Assessment Service
Authority: Falkirk Council (Local council)
What is being bought
Published requirement descriptionDelayed discharges are rising to unacceptable levels due to care, including care at home, being unavailable. Remaining unnecessarily in hospital after treatment is complete can lead to rapid deterioration in physical and mental well-being, particularly in people with dementia. In addition, the occupancy of acute hospital beds by those who no longer need clinical care means these beds will not be available to those who do need them. The aim of the service is to support significant reductions in the number of people delayed in discharge from hospital until more appropriate care and support is available. Short term assessment care will have a clear focus on rehabilitation, recovery and recuperation in a Care Home environment within the Falkirk Council area.
