Coverage: 240 active published awards; 229 bid reports (which may be per lot). Supplier values exclude multi-supplier awards, frameworks and DPS, and use GBP only. They are published award values, not payments. Price reduction compares single-lot, single-award, single-supplier GBP procedures with explicitly non-framework/non-DPS status; increases remain in the average. Unpublished data stays unknown. Awarded suppliers are winners, not all bidders.

Planning and rationale

No-engagement rationaleNot published |
Procedure rationaleNo other reasonable alternative exists for this procurement and this service is critical to patient care and service delivery. This procurement is both essential and critical in supporting the long-term/optimum graft survival of renal transplant patients.
A replacement in the short-term is not a reasonable alternative as it would require extensive and robust validation and verification work in line with laboratory accreditation standards - UKAS ISO15189 that would result in significant disruption and disproportionate technical difficulties that would significantly impact on patient safety and the Trusts ability to deliver services. A new contract 4535237 has been awarded and the equipment is currently undergoing validation, this DAC is required to ensure service continuity until full implementation of the contract. |
