    This procurement was conducted by NHS England. The contract entered into pursuant to this procurement is between the successful supplier Shionogi and NHS England (formerly the National Health Service Commissioning Board).<br/><br/>Organisations wishing to participate in this procurement had to have at least one EU licensed antimicrobial that would have a UK launch dated on or between 1 January 2020 and 31 December 2020 and that was active against one or more pathogens on the World Health Organisation priority pathogen list.<br/><br/>There was no limit on the number of antimicrobials that an organisation could offer.<br/><br/>The Contract awarded pursuant to the procurement are for use by the Department of Health and Social Care, Public Health England, the NHS in England and by private sector healthcare contractors and agents working on behalf of the aforementioned.<br/><br/>Shionogi will be responsible for supply of the selected antimicrobial from 1 July 2022.<br/><br/>The duration of the contract awarded will be for an initial period of three (3) years, with the option to extend (by mutual agreement) for an additional period or periods up to seven (7) years.<br/><br/>Further information was set out in the procurement documents which are available to download from the NICE website https://www.nice.org.uk/about/what-we-do/life-sciences/scientific-advice/models-for-the-evaluation-and-purchase-of-antimicrobials.
