What is being bought

Published requirement description

PCR testing services as follows:

  • Facilitation of PCR testing of 10-40 Doping Control Personnel (DCP) weekly or twice weekly for the period of the contract. DCP are likely to be evenly distributed across the UK.
  • PCR testing should be at home testing with options to either distribute PCR testing

materials to relevant individuals or to a centralised UKAD location.

  • Shipment process of completed PCR test to relevant laboratory that enables 48-72 hour turnaround of results (from shipment)
  • Secure and user-friendly mechanism for reporting of results

The procurement falls outside the scope of application of the directive
Published justification

The value of the contract does not meet or exceed the financial threshold requiring a call to competition in OJEU or FTS. The length of the contract is 2 months (until 31 March 2021) and value between £6000-£50000. Likely value of contract will be approx. £30000.

Furthermore, there was an urgency in need for procurement, in order to meet requirements to ensure UKAD testing services could continue in a Covid-19 safe way.
