The service supports children who are receiving palliative/end of life care.  It works alongside our children's palliative care nurse and provide out of hours and holiday cover . The reason for the urgency was not foreseeable by and not attributable to the relevant authority as the previous provider gave notice of their intention not to enter into a further contract.  A new provider was therefore needed urgently due to the specific requirements of the Service and Patient safety. There was a significant risk currently to meeting the care needs and experience of children on end of life pathways.  \nThis contract is for 12 months starting 1 April 2024 - 31 March 2025",
