The Covid 19 pandemic led to much higher demand than expected for additional healthcare staffing support from international sources, and the subsequent Covid 19 recovery efforts (in particular the increased patient backlog, and shortage of suitably qualified UK workers) have necessitated additional investment in the international market through increased centralised funding, meaning that total spend is projected to remain high for the remainder of the Framework Agreement.
