What is being bought
The Marine Systems Support Output Business Unit (MSS), within the Defence Equipment and Support organisation (DE&S) which is part of the UK Ministry of Defence (“the Authority”)), intends to place a contract for: Support of MTU Future Diesel Gensets The contract scope will cover Post Design Services, Repairs & Overhaul, and Spares Supply from 1st January 2022 through to December 2027. It is considered that this requirement can be placed using the Negotiated Procedure without Notice pursuant to Article 28(1)(e) of Directive 2009/81/EC (Regulation 16(1)(a)(i) (absence of suitable tenders) of the Defence and Security Public Contracts Regulations 2011. MTU are the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for the equipment and have an in-depth knowledge of the design, production processes, overhaul specifications, manuals and associated repair test schedules. Access to this OEM knowledge and supply base has not been attainable via an alternative supplier.
