Coverage: 0 active published awards; 2 bid reports (which may be per lot). Supplier values exclude multi-supplier awards, frameworks and DPS, and use GBP only. They are published award values, not payments. Published-to-award variance compares single-lot, single-award, single-supplier GBP procedures with explicitly non-framework/non-DPS status; increases remain in the average. Unpublished data stays unknown. Awarded suppliers are winners, not all bidders.

Planning and rationale

No-engagement rationaleNot published |
Procedure rationaleScience Corporation is the sole supplier of the PRIMA Subretinal Photovoltaic Implant System, a proprietary retinal prosthesis designed to restore functional central vision in patients with geographic atrophy secondary to age-related macular degeneration. The PRIMA system comprises a unique combination of implantable hardware, surgical delivery technology, activation equipment, software, specialist rehabilitation services, and ongoing technical support which are available only from Science Corporation. No reasonable alternative product or supplier can provide an equivalent clinical solution or meet the Trust's specific requirements. Accordingly, the Trust considers that competition is absent for technical reasons and intends to enter into a contract with Science Corporation for the provision of this technology and associated services. |
