Hard/Software upgrades will be applied as and when required.

The Trust requires one comprehensive contract for the maintenance and technical support of its Alcon ophthalmic surgical systems, including the NGENUITY 3D Visualization System, PUREPOINT Laser, CENTURION Vision System and CONSTELLATION Vision System. The Trust has been unable to identify an alternative supplier with access to the manufacturer-controlled software, firmware updates, technical documentation, more…
calibration tools, OEM replacement parts and authorised engineering resources required to provide full-service maintenance and support under one contract for these systems. Alcon has confirmed that no third-party companies or independent service providers are trained, certified, or authorised by Alcon to perform service or maintenance activities on Alcon equipment. All software, firmware, and digital assets associated with Alcon equipment remain the exclusive property of Alcon or its licensors. Enhancement Software Upgrades are developed, controlled, and distributed solely by Alcon; not available to third-party service providers; only installable by Alcon-authorised technical personnel using authorised tools. It is therefore it is the intention to award the contract to Alcon Eye Care UK Ltd.
