Coverage: 298 active published awards; 6 bid reports (which may be per lot). Supplier values exclude multi-supplier awards, frameworks and DPS, and use GBP only. They are published award values, not payments. Price reduction compares single-lot, single-award, single-supplier GBP procedures with explicitly non-framework/non-DPS status; increases remain in the average. Unpublished data stays unknown. Awarded suppliers are winners, not all bidders.

What is being bought
The Met Office is frequently referenced in online, print and broadcast media in stories relating to the weather, climate science and the wider industries we provide services to. As an indication of scale, in the last calendar year (1 Jan 25 - 31 Dec 25) our assigned keywords recorded 511,412 online, 114,528 broadcast and 3,004 print article mentions in our current media monitoring tool.
The ability to measure, analyse and report on this coverage is crucial for our situational awareness and ability to measure the success of our communications outputs. We are also required to provide reviews and summaries for our executive and for wider office awareness.
Additionally, the ability to reach media at all levels across traditional print, online and broadcast is important to maximise the reach of our messages. A comprehensive and up-to-date journalist and media outlet database is therefore an important part of this service provision.
Scope
The supplier will provide a media monitoring and analysis tool to provide high-quality summaries, analysis and reports.
This monitoring should be available in both automated and manual formats, including daily media roundups, as well as specific coverage reports on external communications projects.
The Met Office communications team is looking to maximise efficiencies by using automation and efficiencies provided by Artificial Intelligence where possible.
The supplier is required to provide an up-to-date journalist and media outlet contact database, including relevant information to help inform communications strategies. There is also a requirement for technical support and onboarding training.
The expectation is that these Services will be invoiced annually in advance for each contract year.
