    The Scottish Government is considering procuring a contract for the design and build of a new class of Marine Protection Vessel and Marine Research Vessel to replace two existing vessels ‘Minna’ and ‘Scotia’ as they reach the end of their service lives. The successful contractor would develop detailed designs, calculations and drawings of the vessels in conjunction with the owner, the classification society, the UK flag state authority (where the ships would be registered) and any other relevant authorities, for approval.
