Published requirement descriptionThe Authority’s food and drink evidence and analytical team purchases market intelligence data and reports on the United Kingdom (UK) and global food and drink industry on an annual basis.
Market intelligence data and reports are one of the many tools used by the Authority’s economists, statisticians, social researchers, and policy advisors to help in assessing issues such as export potential, sector market size, market segmentation, company market shares, brand market shares, and to forecast market growth.
- No preliminary market engagement: A preliminary market engagement notice was not published due to the specification of the requirement being already established and clear. Therefore, there was no additional input from suppliers in the market to help with developing the requirement and approach to the procurement. The supplier base is already known within the market and is noticeably static. There was also no publishing of a Planned procurement notice, due to their being less than 40 days between present day and the ITT needing to be going out to the potential suppliers.

The Contractor shall provide detailed, searchable, company financial information on both stock market listed and private agricultural, food and drink manufacturing, food and drink wholesaling, grocery retailing, catering/foodservice, fishing, and transport companies operating in the United Kingdom and the Irish Republic. The Contractor shall ensure that a wide variety of both current and historical company financial details on issues such as but not limited to company turnover, pre-tax profit, profit margins, return on capital, staff employed, wages, capital expenditure, etc is accessible and available online to the Authority. This data shall be available not only for the main operating unit of a company but also for any significant subsidiaries for which company returns are filed.
