    Scottish Borders Council is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified providers to provide a permanent 24/7 residential placement for an adult male with learning disabilities, a diagnosis of autism and complex care needs. Requirements: It will be the provider's responsibility to meet the following specific requirements to meet the personal outcomes of the service user. The provider and staff must: Provide 24/7 residential care in a single occupancy apartment Provide ready access to garden and/or outdoor areas Have experience, training and skill in providing support for those with limited communication skills and in managing aggressive behaviours which pose a risk to the service user and others Be aware that the service user may become suddenly violent and have in place strategies for managing this Provide constant supervision when service user is awake at a high staffing ratio Maintain a large enough pool of staff to allow for changeover of staff when the service user (through his behaviour) indicates irritation with staff member on duty Have a person-centred and Human Rights based approach Be able to respond sensitively to complex needs, diversion, relocation and provide hands on support Be able to implement guidelines developed by health professionals such as eating and drinking, communication, activities and medication
