Coverage: 59 active published awards; 23 bid reports (which may be per lot). Supplier values exclude multi-supplier awards, frameworks and DPS, and use GBP only. They are published award values, not payments. Price reduction compares single-lot, single-award, single-supplier GBP procedures with explicitly non-framework/non-DPS status; increases remain in the average. Unpublished data stays unknown. Awarded suppliers are winners, not all bidders.

What is being bought
The National Physical Laboratory [NPL] requirement is for a new high accuracy coordinate measuring machine (CMM) at our Teddington site, to replace an existing system that is no longer fit for purpose. The CMM should be fully compatible with current NPL laboratory and IT infrastructure, be free standing i.e. not built into the lab building’s foundations and must be verified against ISO 10360. The CMM should have state-of-the-art capability including the ability to utilise non-contact probing systems such as confocal chromatic probes. The CMM should also have capability to be developed and upgraded with future foreseeable technologies. This is both in terms of software and hardware capability. The solution should consider the environmental impact of manufacturing, delivering, and running the CMM.
