What is being bought
Published requirement descriptionThe HyNet North West Hydrogen Pipeline will be Cadent's first 100 per cent hydrogen pipeline at scale.
The pipeline forms part of the wider HyNet scheme, whose primary objective is to reduce the regional CO2 omissions.
The pipeline will provide a hydrogen transportation network required to enable the UK's first fully integrated hydrogen supply network.
It is anticipated that there will be approximately 90km of new underground HP steel pipeline and 35km of associated customer connection spurs from 10 new Hydrogen Above Ground Installations (HAGI's).
The project will deliver Phase 2 of the hydrogen network and is designed to enable early adopters to receive hydrogen and interlinks with hydrogen production and storage facilities.
Cadent is looking to identify a economic operator, which may include a joint venture or consortium to deliver the full EPCC contract.

No specific legal form is required at this stage. However, Cadent reserves the right to require the successful contractor to take a specific legal form and/or assume joint and several liability if bidding on a joint venture/ consortium/ sub-contracting basis. Alternatively, Cadent may require other forms of assurance or guarantee from each member of a joint venture or consortium. This will be subject to discussion during the procurement process.
