HPFT - Crisis House

The crisis house will serve as an alternative to admission into hospital for people who are experiencing a mental health crisis. It will offer a safe therapeutic environment for a crisis to be managed. <br/><br/>The service will contribute to delivery of the following long-term outcomes: <br/>· Fewer adults in Hertfordshire are admitted into inpatient services for mental health crises <br/>· More adults in Hertfordshire with long-term mental illness have an improved healthy life expectancy <br/>· More adults in Hertfordshire have improved mental wellbeing <br/>· More adults in Hertfordshire with long-term mental illness are able to self-manage their conditions <br/>· Reduced rates of suicide in Hertfordshire <br/> <br/>The service will deliver the following short-medium term outcomes: <br/>· People in Hertfordshire who are experiencing a mental health crisis are supported to recover and remain living in the community <br/>· People will feel safe and supported in an alternative to an inpatient ward or their home<br/>· Fewer adults in Hertfordshire are admitted to an out of area placement.<br/><br/>Bids will be accepted for a Crisis House with 5 – 7 beds and the financial envelope reflects this flexibility. The maximum financial envelope per bed for the contract is £66,700 p/annum. As such the contract value for 5 years is between £1,667,500 - £2,334,500 (depending on the number of beds).<br/><br/>It is essential that bidders have previous experience of delivering mental health services for people in a crisis and can demonstrate the benefits to service users, carers and the local health care system.
