Published requirement description

The Common Services Agency (known as National Services Scotland) (‘the Authority’)acting through its division

National Procurement is undertaking this procurement of Haemodialysis Machines (including consumables,

accessories and maintenance)(‘Products’) on behalf of all entities constituted pursuant to the National Health

Service (Scotland) Act, 1978 (i.e. NHS Scotland Health Boards, Special Health Boards and the Authority or

other NHS Organisation established pursuant to the NHS(Scotland) Act, 1978), any integrated joint boards

established pursuant to the new Public Bodies (Joint Working)Scotland Act, 2014 The Products will be split into

7 Lots, each of which are identified below:

Lot 1 — Unit Based Haemodialysis Machines (Inc. Accessories, Parts, Consumables and Maintenance)

Lot 2 — Home Based Haemodialysis Machines (Inc. Accessories, Parts, Consumables and Maintenance)

Lot 3 — High Flux Dialysers

Lot 4 — HDF Dialysers

Lot #1Unit Based Haemodialysis Machines (Inc. Accessories, Parts, Consumables and Maintenance)

The supply of Haemodialysis Machines (including consumables, accessories and maintenance) for removing

waste and excess water from the blood, and is used primarily as an artificial replacement for lost kidney function

in people with renal failure. Haemodialysis Machines within this Lot will be used within NHS Scotland Hospitals

and Satellite Renal Units.

Published justification: This VEAT notice is to advise the need for modification to meet the additional demands of the Scottish Health and Social Care sector during the current Covid-19 pandemic and to maintain necessary supply and remove unnecessary disruption from the Authority at this time in line with Regulation 72(1)(b) of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015
