- Change The contract term is being extended by 10 months and 9 days from 21 May 2027 to 30 March 2028. The extension is required to maintain continuity of the official Life in the UK Test preparation materials service whilst the replacement procurement is completed and mobilisation and transition activities are undertaken. There are no changes to the scope of services, pricing arrangements, supplier obligations, governance arrangements, intellectual property arrangements or overall commercial model. The modification relates solely to a time-limited extension of the existing contract term., Need for additional works, services or supplies by the original contractor/concessionaire: Additional services are required to ensure continuity of the official Life in the UK Test Preparation Materials service whilst the replacement procurement is completed and mobilised. A change of supplier for a short interim period would result in significant inconvenience to the Home Office, as an alternative supplier would need to be procured, onboarded and mobilised before subsequently transitioning again to the supplier appointed through the replacement procurement. This would require additional governance, contract management, assurance activity and transition planning within a compressed timeframe. A change of supplier would also result in substantial duplication of costs, including procurement activity, supplier onboarding, mobilisation, implementation activity, contract management and transition costs that would subsequently need to be repeated when transitioning to the supplier appointed through the replacement procurement. Continuation with the incumbent supplier supports continuity of supply of the official Life in the UK Test preparation materials during the transition period and avoids unnecessary operational disruption whilst the replacement procurement is completed and implemented.
