What is being bought

Published requirement description

Our dedicated and award-winning event space Illuminate on levels 4 & 5 of the Science Museum - Illuminate - Hire The Science Museum opened its doors for our first event in January 2019. In the build period up to that time, and ever since, we have partnered with an exclusive AV Partner who, from a purely audio-visual perspective, assisted in the design of the space and invested significantly in equipment and infrastructure, resulting in a comprehensive in-house technical offering that meets the vast majority of event requirements while providing an ideal platform upon which additional equipment and specialist solutions can be seamlessly integrated when required.

  • How the procedure runs: The Museum will conduct this procurement using the Competitive Flexible Procedure under the Procurement Act 2023. The procedure is designed to allow a proportionate and structured assessment of suppliers while ensuring fair competition and value for money. Stage 1: Preliminary Selection Questionnaire (PSQ) Interested suppliers must submit a completed PSQ response by 5:00pm (UK time) on 8 October 2026. Responses will be evaluated against the published selection criteria. Further details can be found in the PSQ document. Following evaluation of the PSQ submissions, a maximum of 5 suppliers with the highest scoring compliant responses will be shortlisted and invited to participate in the Invitation to Tender (ITT) stage. Stage 2: Invitation to Tender (ITT) The ITT stage will run from 26 October 2026 to 5:00pm (UK time) on 25 November 2026. Shortlisted suppliers will be invited to submit a detailed tender response. Details to the award criteria can be found in the ITT document. Tender submissions will be evaluated in accordance with the evaluation methodology and award criteria set out within the ITT documentation.
