The further cryostat would be a direct replica of the existing systems in EPAC. The previous designs have been fully tests and integrated into the current facility and work well for intended use - these are based on 10 years of development work, and represent significant work on both STFC and GRE to ensure effective integration and operation, therefore an SSA route was decided.
