What is being bought
Published requirement descriptions part of the Eastern Green Link 2 (EGL2) project, a new connection will increase the
capability of the electricity transmission network between England and Scotland. Scottish
Hydro Electric Transmission PLC and National Grid Electricity Transmission PLC are
partnering on the project. Prior to the EPC offshore installation works commencing, a UXO
ALARP certificate needs to be produced which is specific to the installation corridor and
demonstrates industry best practice for UXO management and mitigation. The general
requirement is for a marine UXO survey along an approximately 440km route from
Peterhead in Scotland to near Bridlington, England over an 80m wide corridor

required shall include: MBES, SSS, Magnetometer / gradiometer.
Nearshore works shall include water depths of less than 10m LAT, Offshore areas involve
water depths up to 100m LAT.
