Coverage: 280 active published awards; 270 bid reports (which may be per lot). Supplier values exclude multi-supplier awards, frameworks and DPS, and use GBP only. They are published award values, not payments. Published-to-award variance compares single-lot, single-award, single-supplier GBP procedures with explicitly non-framework/non-DPS status; increases remain in the average. Unpublished data stays unknown. Awarded suppliers are winners, not all bidders.

In 2014 and 2018, Defra commissioned two studies in succession to establish a baseline against which the effect of changes brought in by the EU FIC Regulation could be tracked and to review the extent of how the objectives of EU FIC have been achieved.

We are now commissioning new research to provide an update assessing the impact of the FIC regulation and to explore recent changes in consumer behaviour and business activity bought about by recent legislative, societal, and technological changes. The evidence will be used to underpin food labelling policy development.

We intend to go live with the Invitation to Tender (ITT) on Monday 20 February with a target start date for the project being circa Wednesday 10 May. This timeline is indicative, and the Authority reserves the right to change. Additional information: https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/department-for-environment-food-rural-affairs
