What is being bought
Published requirement descriptionBEIS is looking for a supplier to undertake the provision and management of the UK component of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) Data Distribution Centre (DDC) which provides access to modelling and scenario data used by the IPCC, and archives data underpinning key figures of IPCC reports.

The contractor will be responsible for managing the UK aspects of the existing DDC site, which provides the gateway to the data for all of the DDC and captures and archives observational datasets for the IPCC.
The DDC is overseen by the IPCC’s Task Group for Data (TG-Data), which receives its mandate from, and reports to, the IPCC Bureau.

The initial term of the contract will run from 1/4/2021 until 31/03/2023, unless terminated or extended by the Department in accordance with the terms of the contract. There is a possibility that the contract could be extended for up to a further 12 months. Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement, and the contract will be awarded on the basis of the most economically advantageous tender.
