What is being bought

This is an invitation for suppliers of retrofittable zero emission drivetrain technologies to perform a feasibility study on the conversion of existing diesel vehicles from Translink’s fleet to zero emission technologies. Translink has a goal to be carbon neutral by 2040 and the conversion of vehicles may be a feasible alternative to the purchase of new vehicles, particularly where there is no obvious replacement in the current market. This study will include access to Translink vehicles in order to assess key data such as feasibility of conversion, most suitable technology, space and weight constraints, options for auxiliary solutions (power assisted steering, air compressor, heating etc), indicative costs and timescales for conversion. Interested suppliers are requested to email their contact details to Mike Kerr at michael.kerr@translink.co.uk NO LATER THAN Close of Business Friday 7th October 2022.

Comparable-procurement analytics

Benchmarked against retained Find a Tender procedures with CPV division 34. The category anchor is Electric vehicles (34144900); this is a deliberately broad market comparator. The comparison is shown at several levels rather than pretending one company or region is always the best benchmark.

Comparison setProceduresReported bids per procedureNamed award suppliersPrice evidence

“Reported bids” is an official aggregate, sometimes reported per lot; it is the closest available competition measure. “Named award suppliers” are winners, not all applicants.

Price-outcome signal

Not enough comparable procedures currently publish both a GBP tender value and a usable lowest-valid-bid value to calculate a responsible price-reduction benchmark. Tenderline deliberately does not infer a saving from named award suppliers or from missing award values.
