What is being bought
Derry City and Strabane District Council invite suppliers to tender for a PEACEPLUS 'The Freedom Project'. This is a 3-year Trauma, Addiction Recovery and Mental Health Project. The Co-design process identified this area of work as one of highest priorities in the Local Co-Designed Action Plan. Post-Troubles and Post-pandemic there is an intense need for community-based recovery support services. Underpinned with recovery expertise, this project will also include peer and community support and life-style change. It will directly address the consequences of inter-generational trauma, working with individuals impacted (in a cross-community group setting), their families, and communities. Programming includes: • Recruit 2 x 3year F/T Full Time mental health Community Practitioners. To launch and close events. 6 cross-community networking and inclusion events (including Cross border element). 9 x 6 week x 10 people Family support programme (3 per year). 9 x 6 week x 10 people Addiction/Trauma intensive support programme (3 per year). 15 x staff/volunteers trained in addiction recovery/anxiety practice. • Promotion of message of hope and recovery to inspire and encourage. Please refer to the CfT documents for further detail.
