Construction Supervisor / project manager for Newton bar roundabout and Castleford

This is a standalone for specific requirements does not replace an existing contract. However, the service will be carried out using the National Standard Form of Contract (NEC4). In this case the Professional Services Contract, option E (Time Based Contract) will be used. It is expected that the success provider will carry out site management of the Newton Bar Roundabout Improvement scheme highway works, followed by the Castleford Growth Corridor scheme construction works on site, a specialist consultant is required. They will supply a suitably qualified Key Person to carry out the contractual post on site of “Supervisor” along with the delegated functions of the contract “Project Manager” (excluding ability to terminate the contract or instruct changes above a defined value).All as defined by the standard NEC4 construction contract. It is expected that this key person will also provide training and support to more junior members of highways staff working on site to gain the relevant experience of such works, to allow them to begin to take on the same function on smaller projects. It is estimated that the service will last 3 years, but may be terminated on 4 weeks notice if funding for any element is not obtained, or the service is no longer required for any other reason. The estimated contract value is £350k, based on costs calculated using both equivalent internal rates and costs incurred for a similar function on the recent similar projects.
