Coverage: 11 active published awards; 11 bid reports (which may be per lot). Supplier values exclude multi-supplier awards, frameworks and DPS, and use GBP only. They are published award values, not payments. Price reduction compares single-lot, single-award, single-supplier GBP procedures with explicitly non-framework/non-DPS status; increases remain in the average. Unpublished data stays unknown. Awarded suppliers are winners, not all bidders.

Planning and rationale

No-engagement rationaleNot published |
Procedure rationaleThe two Tecan Freedom Evo liquid handling robots are complex pieces of equipment that need in-depth knowledge of the system and uninterrupted access to parts should these be necessary. The robots were originally bought from Tecan back in 2015 and Tecan has been providing the maintenance services ever since. There would be disproportionate technical difficulties in a third party maintaining our instruments, as they would have to source spares via Tecan, adding cost and delay to the support package 48-hour response time. Any OEM warranty with Tecan might also be invalidated, so Tecan is the only viable and practical supplier of these services. |
