What is being bought
A number of pharmacies across BNSSG are providing the enhanced service for the availability of specialist medicines. By providing the specialist medicines enhanced service, pharmacies are required to ensure that the specialist medicines are available at all times during their opening hours and on any bank or public holidays on which they open. This enables access to medicines for patients and their carers across BNSSG. Funding to enable select community pharmacies to undertake the contract. A value of £850/pharmacy/year, in addition cost of any expired medicines held. This enables patients/carers to access medicines for specialist conditions (including end of life medicines) in a timely manner This contract will be from 1st April 2024-31st March 2027. This procurement has been carried out by NHS South, Central and West Commissioning Support Unit (SCW) on behalf of the Commissioners.
