Coverage: 43 active published awards; 10 bid reports (which may be per lot). Supplier values exclude multi-supplier awards, frameworks and DPS, and use GBP only. They are published award values, not payments. Published-to-award variance compares single-lot, single-award, single-supplier GBP procedures with explicitly non-framework/non-DPS status; increases remain in the average. Unpublished data stays unknown. Awarded suppliers are winners, not all bidders.

What is being bought
The Health Innovation Network South London (HIN SL) has been awarded a grant by Innovate UK to deliver two Biomedical Catalyst Accelerators. The outcome of the programme will seek to support innovative companies to de-risk and accelerate the commercial readiness of medical devices. This is part of the strategy for St Thomas’ Campus to be a Medtech Hub for London Societal Challenge 1 (SC1).

Planning and rationale
Planning budgetNot published |
No-engagement rationaleNot published |
Procedure rationaleThe following rationale supports the proposed direct award under Schedule 5 of the Procurement Act 2023 on the grounds of the novelty of the service and King’s College London having intellectual property rights in delivering the MedTech Venture Kickstarter as implied in the Innovate UK grant offer letter and thus there leaves no reasonable alternatives other than for King’s College London to deliver the programme. This approach is in accordance with Section 41 by reference to paragraph 2(a) and paragraph 5(a) and (b) of the Procurement Act 2023. |
