Published requirement descriptionThe Authority has a requirement for the provision of services for the design and production of the BBMF Lancaster aircraft hydraulic flapjack part, quantity two.The Lancaster aircraft is currently undergoing maintenance. One hydraulic flapjack must be provided by November 2026, and the second by June 2027.This contract contains core work, for the provision of the hydraulic flapjack cylinder and end cap (FJC + EC), and an option, for the additional cost for the provision of the entire hydraulic flapjack unit (FJA). The Authority will determine whether this option shall be exercised after contract award.The supplier for this work must be compliant with the technical requirements set out in the ITT.
- No preliminary market engagement: The market is already well known and the requirement is not complex or novel. Therefore, any value produced by early market engagement would have been minimal.

- Weighted Value for Money: Tenders will be assessed using the weighted value for money formula. All scores will receive a technical score out of 100. This technical score shall be raised to the power of forty over sixty. This value shall be divided by the total price of the tender (to produce the weighted value for money score). This value shall then be multiplied by 1,000,000 (in order to give a readable score). Full details and examples are provided in the ITT documents.
