External Works and Landscaping Framework

A variety of hard and soft landscape works; Hard works elements to including surfacing of footpaths, car parking, and vehicular areas, seating areas, steps, ramps, street furniture to non-adoptable areas. Softworks to include excavation, filling, levelling, soiling and ground preparation, ripping and cultivation. The creation of grass and meadow areas, through either seeding or turfing. All aspects of planting including the supply and planting of groundcover, shrubs and herbaceous planting, bulb planting, woodland and native planting, tree planting up to semi-mature stock size including tree planting accessories. Aftercare operations including weeding, pruning, training, fertiliser and herbicide application, replacement planting, mowing, staking and tying. Works are likely to be located within schools, town centres, local parks and open spaces within residential areas, within business parks, education establishments including nurseries, schools and colleges, within the grounds of public buildings such as libraries, town & parish halls and other Council buildings.

Carriageways, footways, paved areas and verges including but not limited to; Excavation/ Removal of existing surfaces and preparation of lower layers and / or sub-base. Cold Milling / Planing and other mechanical removal of surface and lower layers to reduced levels. Surfacing including, supply and lay new asphalt or similar surfacing materials to footways, carriageways, paved areas, and verges, including regulating, to levels. Minor Repairs/Alterations to kerbing, edgings, and channels. Replacement or reinstatement of damaged elements. Adjustment of utility covers, including manholes, service boxes, and valve chambers to match new surface levels. Traffic Calming Measures including installation of asphalt road humps and speed tables. General Maintenance including Pothole repairs and patching, reinstatement works and Crack sealing or joint repairs.

Carriageways, footways, paved areas and verges including but not limited to; All LOT 2a Works Plus: Kerbing and Channelling - Supply and installation of various types of kerbs and channels (e.g. pre-cast concrete, granite, conservation). Construction, resurfacing and maintenance of footways and paved areas including asphalt, concrete, and flag paving. Installation and repairs of block, slab and other paved areas for footways / footpaths, and shared spaces. Drainage Works including installation and maintenance of drainage systems (piped and linear), including gullies, channels, and manhole repairs. Earthworks and Groundworks including : Site clearance and excavation and filling to levels, Subbase preparation and compaction, Backfilling and reinstatement of trenches. Utility Work including installation of ducting and utility chambers, Adjustments to existing utility infrastructure (e.g. raising / lowering of manhole and service covers) to align with new surface levels. Miscellaneous Civils works to include: Concrete walls (e.g. reinforced concrete, masonry), Foundations for small structures (e.g. street furniture, bollards, signs), Small structural repairs, Gabion Wall Installation, Installation and maintenance of steps (e.g. concrete, granite, conservation), Installation of foundations for street lighting columns, bollards, and other street furniture. Installation and maintenance of street furniture (e.g. bollards, benches, signs, bins etc). Supply & Installation of Guardrails, pedestrians barriers and handrails. Public Realm Improvements including: Hard landscaping (e.g. public realm improvements, granite setts) to highways areas; Soft Landscape reinstatement, forming tree pits and soiling as part of civils works). Specialist Civils Work including installation of tactile paving for pedestrian crossings and visual-audible crossings (VAC’s) including kerb adjustment and surfacing, concrete and stick down tactile units. Cycle Lane Segregation measures (e.g. kerb separators, wands). Traffic Calming Measures including Precast concrete cushions, Preformed bolt-down traffic calming items, Highway Build Outs.

The fabrication, supply and installation of British Standard compliant timber and steel fencing types (see attached schedule for full list). The fabrication, supply and installation of bespoke and non-standard fencing types and the fabrication, supply and installation of artistic artworks and gateway features. Works are likely to be located within housing estates, community facilities, schools, town centres, local parks and open spaces, sports grounds, business parks, roundabouts and verges, education establishments including nurseries, schools and colleges, within the grounds of Council houses, public buildings such as libraries, town & parish halls and other Council buildings.

Works to include the supply and installation of Playground equipment within parks and play areas, trim trail and play equipment in school grounds and outdoor gym equipment within parks and open spaces. The supply and installation of a variety of impact absorbing safety surfacing including grass matting, rubber matting, rubber tiles, rubber crumb surfacing, geotextiles, play sand and bark surfacing, artificial grass and grass carpet surfacing. Supply & installation of fencing and surfacing to paths within and around play areas.

Works to include the supply and installation of Specialist sports equipment and surfacing within parks and school grounds and recreation grounds and stadiums. The supply and installation of a variety of specialist outdoor sports surfacing and equipment including but not limited to tennis, basketball, athletics tracks, Artificial grass and cricket practice wickets, line markings. The supply and installation of outdoor recreational fixed sports equipment including but not limited to outdoor gym equipment, tennis nets and posts, basketball hoops, and multi-use games areas, field, and track athletics equipment.

Works to include the supply and installation of Specialist sports equipment and surfacing within parks and school grounds and recreation grounds and stadiums. The supply and installation of a variety of specialist outdoor sports surfacing and equipment including but not limited to tennis, basketball, athletics tracks, Artificial grass and cricket practice wickets, line markings. The supply and installation of outdoor recreational fixed sports equipment including but not limited to outdoor gym equipment, tennis nets and posts, basketball hoops, and multi-use games areas, field, and track athletics equipment.

The construction of new masonry and/ or stone walls and structures and the demolition and alteration of existing masonry and/ or stone walls and structures. Works to include the create of or removal, alteration, and repair of retaining walls, boundary walls, highway structures, bin stores, and drying areas. The works are likely to be located within town centres, local parks and open spaces within residential areas, within business parks, education establishments including nurseries, schools and colleges, within the grounds of public buildings such as libraries, town & parish halls and other Council buildings.
