Coverage: 11 active published awards; 11 bid reports (which may be per lot). Supplier values exclude multi-supplier awards, frameworks and DPS, and use GBP only. They are published award values, not payments. Published-to-award variance compares single-lot, single-award, single-supplier GBP procedures with explicitly non-framework/non-DPS status; increases remain in the average. Unpublished data stays unknown. Awarded suppliers are winners, not all bidders.

Planning and rationale

No-engagement rationaleNot published |
Procedure rationaleThe purchase is for high quality scientific hardware for teaching, linked with a cloud-based learning platform. The platform is populated with high quality, ready to use teaching content. Importantly, where the content does not match what we currently teach, or is absent, we have full editorial rights so can add or edit as required. Therefore, we can enhance the quality and quantity of the practical experiences our student cohort currently benefits from in the lab – and away from it. This is the only company that currently offers a cloud-based, GDPR compliant, learning platform with this combination of features. This purchase is in fact a follow-on subscription; there is no practical alternative to this platform and even if there were, given the University’s investment in developing the content, the switching costs would be prohibitive. |
