Coverage: 11 active published awards; 0 bid reports (which may be per lot). Supplier values exclude multi-supplier awards, frameworks and DPS, and use GBP only. They are published award values, not payments. Published-to-award variance compares single-lot, single-award, single-supplier GBP procedures with explicitly non-framework/non-DPS status; increases remain in the average. Unpublished data stays unknown. Awarded suppliers are winners, not all bidders.

Procedure rationaleAdditional or repeat goods, services or works - further goods, services or works following a competitive procedure. It is anticipated that Transport UK East Anglia Limited will be taken into public ownership in October 2025. Transport UK East Anglia's current contractual arrangements for supplies of Electricity and Natural Gas Supply are with SSE and will expire on 31st March 2025. It is anticipated that thereafter supplies of Electricity and Natural Gas Supply will be procured under the CCS Frameworks. There is therefore a requirement to put in place a short term contract for the period 01/04/25 to 30/09/25. For the past 3 months the Department for Transport (DfT) have put a hold on all procurement activities for non-Key Contracts. Given relatively short supply period. together with the diminished timescale to put in place new procurement arrangements it is considered that a Direct award of a 6 month period contract is made to the current supplier SSE. The Direct Award pricing agreed with the incumbent supplier has been benchmarked against prevailing market pricing to ensure best value is obtained.
