Description of the works The works will provide a segregated cycle facility on both sides along Manchester Road from the Metrolink bridge south to the junction with Wilbraham Road (Four Banks) & Barlow Moor Road from Four Banks to Sandy Lane junction. The proposed measures include: Side roads: • marked cycle lanes, with coloured surfacing and cycle symbols. • enhanced pedestrian crossing points, including tactile paving. • tightening of radii at junctions to reduce entry/exit speeds through the junction and reducing pedestrian crossing distances. • traffic calming features in the form of a road humps. • Provision of loading bays and disabled parking bays. Locations will be subject to discussions with local business and funding. Additional information: The Council is using the e-business portal known as the Chest. Applicants will need to register their details at the following link www.the-chest.org.uk.
