What is being bought
1) This notice is placed as a Prior Information Notice (PIN) to inform the market of NHS Devon Integrated Care Board's (ICB) (the Commissioner's), intention to recommission the provision of the Primary Care Health Inequalities Fellowship Programme. The Commissioner would like to understand the level of provider interest in delivering these services. 2) The Commissioner is seeking to secure a single Prime Provider who has the capability and capacity to deliver the Devon Health Inequalities Fellowship Programme to primary care professionals within the Devon ICB footprint. The Health Inequalities Fellowship supports primary care professionals to develop their practice as champions of health equity, ready to lead community-oriented improvements across Devon's healthcare landscape. 3) The Commissioner is considering a potential 2-year programme, pending clarification of 2025/26 funding. The likely envelope break down as follows: Year 1 - 2024/25 - circa £140-150k Year 2 - 2025/26 - circa £150-160k Meaning a total contract value of £290-310k over the 2-year term. 4) The programme's primary goal is to bridge gaps in health outcomes by fostering a workforce of empowered, knowledgeable fellows who can drive positive change within primary care settings. 5) TUPE is not likely to apply to this opportunity. 6) The deadline by which you can register your interest in this opportunity is 12:00 28th November 2024. Key Objectives: a) Supporting Recruitment to and Retention in hard to recruit to areas/practices b) Developing quality improvement projects with a focus on addressing inequalities achieved through objectives 3-7 c) Personal upskilling; Fellows will be better skilled to meet the needs of the community/population they are serving d) Develop Expertise: Fellows will gain specialised knowledge in health inequality issues, understanding the factors influencing unequal health outcomes and ways to mitigate them through innovative, evidence-based interventions. e) Enhance Skills in Community Engagement: Training will emphasise the importance of engaging with diverse communities, identifying local needs, and designing tailored approaches that resonate with each demographic. f) Build Capacity for Leadership in Health Equity: Fellows will learn to advocate for health equity in their practice, enhancing their ability to lead change within their teams and influence policy at local and regional levels. g) Support Collaborative Action: The programme encourages a multi-disciplinary approach, connecting fellows with professionals across the healthcare system to foster collaborative solutions. 5) TUPE is not likely to apply to this opportunity. 6) The deadline by which you can register your interest in this opportunity is 12:00 28th November 2024.
