The service includes Forensic postmortem (FPM) with/without Computed Tomography (CT) scan, Forensic Computed Tomography (CT) scan and Forensic skeletal survey, to the Authority. This direct award is made in accordance with the UK Procurement Act 2023 for below-threshold procurements. The supplier, Coventry and Warwickshire Pathology Services (CWPS), is the sole provider capable of delivering mortuary and pathology services within the Coventry and Warwickshire region due to: Statutory and operational requirements: CWPS operates under University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust and is the designated provider for pathology services across the local NHS network. Specialist facilities and accreditation: Mortuary services require secure, licensed facilities and compliance with HTA (Human Tissue Authority) standards, which CWPS uniquely holds in this locality. Integrated service delivery: Pathology and mortuary functions are embedded within the Trust's clinical governance and cannot be substituted without significant risk to continuity of care and compliance.
