The contract(s) will require the processing of all metal arising from the 19 Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC) in Kent. The concessionaire must be able to meet the below requirements: - The capability and capacity to receive and process, at a minimum, the estimated annual tonnage of metal for each Lot they are bidding for. - Process both Ferrous and Non-Ferrous metals. The concessionaire will also be required to have in place: - A waste processing facility with appropriate permitting and planning permissions. - An electronic weighbridge for the weighing-in of material delivered to their facility to provide KCC with the appropriate management information (including weigh-loader transaction listings). - Policies and procedures that recovers materials in accordance with the waste hierarchy to maximise reuse and recycling and to avoid sending any waste to landfill. - Robust service contingency plan to ensure continuity of services in the event of plant failure, etc. The overall estimated volume for this contract is up to 7,000 tonnes per annum.
