On 17th March 2023, the Authority published a Voluntary Ex-Ante Transparency Notice (VEAT) to inform the market of its intention to award this contract (reference 2023/S 000-007864). This service provides specialist palliative care support for Children and Young People who either do not need access to a hospital and/or who have identified their usual place of residence as a preferred place of care / death. This contract started on 1st April 2023 for a period of 12 months, with the option to extend for a further 12 months ending on 31st March 2025. The value of this contract is £441,619 (excl. VAT), the figure reflected in this notice is the total contract value, including the option to extend by a further 12 months. This is the final agreed figure which is slightly higher than the expected value set out within the VEAT, however this is not a material difference.
