The primary aims of the Independent Visitor is to:\n1.1\tVisit, advise and befriend the young person, taking a long-term interest in their welfare and development. This is achieved through regular visits.\n1.2\tTo provide a consistent adult figure in the young person's life, when there is no family member able to take on this role.\n1.3\tTo facilitate and support the development of children and young people to develop meaningful relationships.",
