## Description
The Vale of Glamorgan Council is responsible for the control of weeds within the adopted highway network, a core function that supports public safety, infrastructure integrity, and the visual amenity of the local environment. Weed growth on highways can obstruct visibility, damage surfaces, and contribute to drainage issues, making its effective management essential for maintaining a safe and accessible public realm.
In delivering this service, the Council is committed to the principles of the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015, which places a statutory duty on public bodies to improve the economic, social, environmental, and cultural well-being of Wales. The Act requires public services to take a long-term view, work collaboratively, and adopt preventative and integrated approaches.
