What is being bought
The Childcare Development and Sustainability Service (CDSS) is commissioned to support Bristol City Council to meet its statutory duties under the Childcare Acts 2006 and 2016 to:
• Secure sufficient childcare provision for parents to take up or remain at work or undertake education or training which could reasonably be expected to assist them to obtain work, for children aged 0-14 (or up to 18 for disabled children)
• Secure sufficient Early Years provision for 3- and 4-year-olds, taking into account the 30 hours free provision
• Secure sufficient education and childcare provision for eligible 2-year-olds
• Provide information, advice and assistance on childcare in Bristol to parents
• Provide information, advice and training to childcare providers
The service will also support Bristol to meet its priorities set out in its Belonging Strategy 2021-24
